Name: Ryohei Richard "Okie" Okamoto
birthday: May 14, 1982
hometown: Watchung, NJ
instrument: Keeeeeeeeeeeys and some backing vocals.
equipment: Korg MS2000B, Roland SD300X Stage Piano
what's in your cd player: The Decemberists, usually. The Junior Varsity. Lots of stuff. But those two keep making it back.
favorite foods: Anything Japanese food.
favorite restaraunt: Blue Ginger in Wellesley, Massachusetts
favorite article of clothing: On me? Jeans.
favorite movies: Lilo & Stitch, Eternal Sunshine, City of God
What High-Tech Gadgets do you own: PSP, iPod, a cel phone...
Favorite thing to do while bored in the van: PSP, iPod, a cel phone...
Favorite time to drive the van: I dig the nighttime drives as long as I got some caffeine in me.
Best Band Memory: There's too many to count. But playing a hometown show right after our van got stolen, and there were so many kids that stayed right to the end of that horribly hot and sticky show. That night is the exact reason I love doing this.
Favorite TV Show: Arrested Development, by far.
Favorite Cereal: Cracklin' Oat Bran, believe it or not.
Favorite Video Game: The PS2 installments of Winning Eleven.
Least favorite band memory: This one's easy. Jarrett running up to me, in hysterics, yelling, "It's gone. The fucking van's gone. It's stolen. The trailer, everything. It's all fucking gone." That's not something I could ever forget.
In 3 words describe each member:
Tom: Drunk, Poker, Talent
Jarrett: Drunk, Poker, Awesome Manager (open compounds count as 1 word, right?)
Kenny: Fun, Dependable, Carpenter
Okie: Hot. Really Hot.
Josh: Drunk, Sick-ass drummer (again, open compound), Weird
About Me: Well, I've been doing this for a long ass time, and I can't imagine myself doing anything else at this point in my life. I like to cook, I like to eat, and I love to make the music happen. If you ever come to one of our shows, make sure to say hi, because I'd love to meet you, shake your hand, and say "Thanks for making this worthwhile." Is that cheesy to say? Probably. Yeah. I'm good at that.
