Wow. I'm truant...

I haven't been updating this thing like I should. I'm sorry, because some of these shows definitely deserve mention. Wolverhampton? Incredible. Northampton? Awesome. Leeds, which was our first headlining show in the UK ever? That was just something special, wasn't it? My hat's off to the guy who got kicked out of the venue for ripping the disco ball down. I don't encourage vandalism, but it WAS kinda funny. And the after party at Leeds? LOADS of fun. Left me smarting, though. Too many snakebites with friends. Tomorrow is Manchester, and it's the first show we're playing where we've actually already played the city with HelloGoodbye (save Leeds, but the situation's slightly different). So I hope you guys go off in Manchester! - Much Love, Okie
Norwich and Nottingham!

I had some Peri-Peri Chicken today. YUM. That stuff is real tasty. We finally have copies of our CD to sell! And I hope everyone who comes to the shows will buy one. :^) Either way, life here's pretty damn good. I drank WAY too much last night, and I'm paying for it today. The shows have all been out of control so far. And those YMA6 boys are top gents. They're mint. Ha hah a. I love all these English phrases. Ok. Tomorrow's Wolverhampton. I hope I can find a pub playing the Liverpool game, considering it's on at the same time as the Wolves game. Wolverhampton, here we come! - Much Love, Okie
Hoppin' the pond to Middlesbrough!

We're here in the UK! Hoooooorraaaaaaaaaaay! God, I love this country. We're staying at our friend's house in Leeds. His name's Brad, and he's actually driving the Sprinter everywhere. So far we're having a great time. I love Snakebites with Black. If you see me at one of these shows, buy me one and I'll be your friend forever. Tonight was Middlesbrough, our first show. First off, You, Me at Six and Farewell are two of the nicest bands we've ever toured with! THAT rules. I love friendly tours. Ha ha. The kids at the show tonight were awesome, and the rest of the tour has a LOT to live up to. Good luck, Norwich.
I had a Parmo, by the way. They're amazing. Pictures of it will emerge online, I promise. Ha ha. SOOOOO TASTY! Look 'em up on the interwebs. I gotta get to bed, because I gotta wake up early to run off the fat that I accrued from that damn thing. I swear, it weighed about 5 pounds. Ha ha ha. - Much Love, Okie
The End of an Error!!!!
Posted on 10/08/2008 at 2:34 pm
Our 2nd CD is finally going to be out in stores on Tuesday. It's the culmination of a lot of blood, sweat, and fears, and we couldn't be prouder of the product. We know, we know... it's been too damn long. Down to business. The reason I write this is that I wanted to make an impassioned plea to anyone reading this to support struggling artists, ourselves not-so-coincidentally included.
I'm sitting here, drafting this thing at work. Yes, work. It may surprise some people to know that I have a job. A 9 - 5. I'm a receptionist at an elevator company right now, because we have a little time, in between tours. My point is this: we're not millionaires. And we ain't selling no million copies of CDs, either. I realize jobs are normal... I'm not bitching. But some people assume that musicians get to sit around living off the largess afforded us by touring revenue. The truth is, we all have jobs to scrape by on rent or bills or food or gas when we're not on tour. We're a bunch of dudes that like to hang out, play music, and have fun. It's the best job in the world, but it's still a job, and a low paying one at that.
To a band like us, CD sales matter. Big time. They affect how much we can tour, to who we can tour with. Where we tour. When we can put out more music. When we get the sickest T-Shirt designs on the planet. And I'm hoping that everyone that wants to listen to our music will buy it legitimately. I don't think our fans owe us anything... it's more a favor I'm asking. If we've ever chatted online, if we ever met at a show, if we ever put out a song to you, or if our music has ever made a difference to you. Hell, if you think I'm not a complete asshole, and you have a passing interest in our band. Please, pick up a copy of the CD; give it a shot. Don't download it illegally. It means more to us than you could imagine. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go order that Quietdrive CD. We'll be on the road, and I hope to see you out there. Seriously, thanks. Much Love, - Okie
A link included HERE has all the places you can pre-order our CD.
Oh hi yo.

What's up, folks? We're here in Columbus. Last time we were here, it was the night that Columbus experienced record snowfall. Tonight's show had LESS people than that night! Columbus, you're really sh*tting the bed here, so to speak. Pardon my French. Ha ha ha ha. Since last we spoke, well, we've had some cool shows. Dirt Fest was fun, and it was a long and strange day. Then, there was Pontiac Michigan. I love the Pike Room. It rules. And it was a fun time. Nice bar. Ha ha. And then, there was tonight. Listen, I love Skully's as a venue, and I'd LOVE to play a show there with a good number of people... so Columbus, next time, help us out. Word. Tomorrow's Akron. I like Musica. Hopefully, you guys will show up.
Oh, and also, did you see? We've announced a release date for our new album! October 14th! Pre-sale information will be forth coming. God. Can't wait. We're releasing the CD... that's truly "The End of an Error." Ha ha. - Much Love, Okie
Wow. I'm getting lazy...

Man. I haven't been updating this at all. I'm a jerk. Ha ha. Well, we've been running around a whole bunch. Internet access? Spotty. Sleeping in vans. Driving overnight. Playin' shows. Lots of 'em. We've had some EXCELLENT shows since last I updated. Omaha? Holy crap! Amazing. Also, the dudes in The Secret Handshake are incredibly awesome. Go watch them play. They rule. Also, Iowa City? Always one of the best shows of the tour. This time was no disappointment. Even when the show had a curfew of 8:30! You guys went NUTS! And that was for an EARLY show! That's ridiculous. Anyways, we're in Michigan. Back in hallowed Eastern Standard Time. Tomorrow's Dirt Fest. I'm kinda scared... it looks like 500 metal bands, us, A Change of Pace, and Socratic. Finally, though, The Cover Up is playing to their type of crowd. They will blow people away. I can't wait to see the crowd for them. :^) Anyways, hope to see you guys at some of the coming shows. - Much Love, Okie
Yikes!

Oh the things that have happened since last we spoke! Our van broke down in Phoenix! The Cover Up housed us in their van on the ride to San Diego, after switching trailers (so they had ours) and we LOADED up that trailer with both bands' gear. We left Nick and Eric to handle things back in Phoenix as we went to San Diego. Along the way, THEIR van almost died, as it was now towing, literally, a ton of extra weight. We made it, didn't miss a show, and the van was fixed a few days later. As for us, we rented a Hyundai Sonata. Ha ha ha ha. The California shows were all very awesome (um, in all fairness, except for Fresno. But the kids that WERE there were really cool.). We just played a great show in Portland last night, and tonight is Seattle, one of my favorite cities in the world! Hopefully, kids will actually come to the show. That'd be swell. Ok, well, talk to you all later, and hope to see you guys at the shows! - Much Love, Okie
Sorry I'm late...

Wow. I haven't updated this thing in a while. Sorry... kind of a lot's happened. Well, as anyone who's come to the shows in the last couple of days may have noticed, Jose's in a sling. He separated his shoulder at the Red-Eyed Fly... you know, someone should really make that railing higher. Jose took a nasty spill down a cliff. It was a pretty ridiculous night. Since then, our guitar tech, Eric, has been filling in, with extra help from Steve and Spanky of The Cover Up. We've had some wonderful shows in McAllen and Brownsville, and then of course, the Plano Centre. That show was incredible. The kids were super awesome, I met a ton of people, and saw some sick bands. Dude, kids REALLY LIKE All Time Low. Ha ha. Those guys are good dudes. Well, we've had a couple days off, and now we're off to New Mexico, for a show tomorrow. I miss playing shows. It's been 2 days. Ha ha. - Much Love, Okie
Off to Austin!
Posted on 07/01/2008 at 11:14 am
Did you guys know that The Cover Up is officially the best band in the world? Seriously. They are all sorts of amazing. Houston was a LOT of fun! We've clearly picked the right city to be our namesake. Ha ha ha. And it was great to see our good buddy, Ray (from Hurricane's), at the show. Suffice it to say, a fun night was had by all. Tonight's Austin. Haven't played this venue before. Haven't played Austin in a while. Heck, we haven't played Texas in a while. So I hope this show goes well. So far, everyone that's come to the shows has been pretty damn cool with us, so we can only hope that the trend continues... Ok. Hope to see y'all there! - Much Love, Okie
This just in: Houston Calls FINALLY in Houston.

Hi guys. Haven't had internet in a couple of days. Sooooooo St. Louis was... interesting. Show gets cancelled because there was a fight at the venue the night before. We get on a show at the Creepy Crawl (thanks to them for getting us that show). Kids come to the show despite it all. We had a great time playing it. We done got drunk with our new boys in The Cover Up (who freaking SHRED, by the way). We partied at my friend Megan's house. Oof. That was a rough next morning. Ha ha.
Well, yesterday was Claremore, Oklahoma, and can I just say that I had... modest... expectations for this show? But it was a lot of fun, and you guys were rad! Thanks for having fun with us. Now, we're in Houston after an overnight drive... I'm pretty tired. Which may explain how dumb this post reads. Sorry about that. Houston tonight! Hope to see a bunch of people in our fair namesake! - Much Love, Okie
